On Tuesday 14TH February, Shaker will have been in Guantanamo for 10 years.
On 14 February, 43-year-old Aamer will have spent 10 years in Guantánamo, without charge or trial. Shaker has been cleared for release by the US authorities, the British government has called for his release and return to the |UK and yet, inexplicably, he remains in the US concentration camp without any indication by the US administration as to when Shaker will be able to step foot on UK soil. Shaker’s continued imprisonment by the US is totally unacceptable, not only is it opposed by the British Government, and British MPs, and Shaker’s local community but it is condemned by human rights organisations and communities in the US and around the world
Please join us at the US Embassy, London, to hand in cards and petitions for President Obama.
Our cards will say,
“Dear President Obama, we would love you to…….release British Resident Shaker Aamer, held without justice in Guantanamo for ten years to this day, cleared but not free. Bring him home now. End his torture and abuse – give him back his life.”
